Residents at the estates keep busy with a wide range of activities and outings. Browse the albums to see pictures of our most recent events.
Windsor celebrated National Nursing home week and for the
final day of celebration, the residents and staff enjoyed a BBQ
outside with hot dogs and hamburgers. Following the meal, they did
their traditional balloon lift off. Each balloon has a note attached
to it in hopes of someone finding it and sending a return note to the
nursing home. Last year a note was received from a family that found
a balloon in central Missouri. This year the balloons floated into
the sky and headed in a southwest direction. It was a wonderful day for all involved.
We received response to one of our balloons -- it journeyed and was found 709 miles away in Evanstan, Illinois!
Each year, the talented Roe family visits the Estates and entertains residents with their music. Residents from both the Manor and the Estates enjoyed the entertainment.

Some of the residents took it upon themselves to do something for the community. They bought new teddy bears, dressed them up and made birth certificates for them. The bears were then collected by the ISIS Shrine temple to be delivered to the children's hospital in St. Louise.

Residents at the Estates went outside and enjoyed a presentation from the Veterans on Veteran's Day.
The staff and administrators at Windsor Estates found ways to make even the drudgery of the annual state survey fun! Activites Director Erin Kerby gave Kathy Ochs, Director of Nurses, "The Twinkie Certificate" to keep her spirits high during the survey. Next, Erin gave Susan Korthanke, Administrator, "The Ding Dong Certificate" for things she has learned this week. At the close of the meeting, rubber stress balls were thrown to all the staff.
Erin Kerby, Activities Director, took the Dad's on a fishing trip to Lakewood. They all had a very good time and a few had luck in catching a fish.
On Friday, June 12th, Windsor residents and staff, were off to the River Festival. It was a parade from Windsor to the park. The residents enjoyed the music and had a sack lunch prepared by the dietary department at Windsor. After their lunch they all enjoyed cotton candy, funnel cakes, along with some other fine desserts at the festival. I, Ann McCall, want to thank the staff, families, and volunteers who assisted in taking our residents to the festival. They had a wonderful time.
May 11th to May 15th was National Nursing home week. The residents
enjoyed many activites during the week, but the highlight of the week
was on Friday, with a BBQ followed by a balloon lift off. The
residents are hoping a few of the ballooons are found and they get a
message from someone. After the balloon send off, a pancake race was
enjoyed by staff and residents.
